I painted this from a photo taken by my neighbor when she visited an Afrikan village. She found the people though poor to be very happy with their families, friends, and village life. Somehow this cheerful scene seemed to convey the feelings they expressed.
This does convey a "frolicky contentment" feeling. Fun shadow on the ground too. Nice painting, Janet!
